Sunday morning activities

On most Sundays our children and young people join with us for the first part of the 10:30am service before going to their own groups:

Some sporting activities are on the go in our Sports Hall after the groups finish.

King’s Kids’ Corner
An area in the Sanctuary where under-3s and their parents and carers can be comfortable during the service with books and quiet activities.
Outside the Sanctuary, in our Welcome Hall, is another child-friendly area for the more active ones. The service is relayed to a loudspeaker so adults need not miss out.

Taking part
Our children and young people take an active part in services by reading, singing, and sometimes taking the collection. On the last Sunday of each month they have a Kids' Coin Clatter when they take buckets around the congregation collecting loose change which goes towards Church Development. In 2018 they collected £353 for Church Development and £74 for Water Aid.

Groups for children and young people are led by people trained to be Junior Church/Youth leaders and the groups always have two adults present. St Paul’s actively follows the principles of the Safeguarding Policy of the Methodist Church. All leaders and helpers have undergone training in Safeguarding and Child Protection, and have been DBS checked. DBS checks are renewed at the appropriate intervals. See the full policy here.
