A marriage service is the time when a solemn, legal contract is made between a man and a woman; this contract can be made at a Registry Office or in a Christian context in Church. In Church the ceremony is also an act of worship in which marriage is celebrated as a gift from God and the joy of the couple is shared and witnessed by family and friends. St Paul’s is an ideal location for you to hold that special event, modern yet conservative.

The marriage service is available in either a traditional or modern form and the theme is one of love, hope, faithfulness, sacrifice and trust.

It is the will of God that marriage
should be honoured as a way of life,
in which we may know the security of love and care,
and grow towards maturity.
Through such marriage,
Children may be nurtured,
Family life strengthened,
And human society enriched.”

(The Methodist Worship Book)

There is also a service available for those who have been married at the Registry Office and wish to have their marriage blessed in Church.

Anyone interested in any of these services should contact the Minister for an appointment:
